It used to be very difficult for me to carry softwares from one computer to another.I had faced a lot of problem while carrying softwares from computer to computer.I used to copy programs,put in USB drives,then again installing them in another computer,running the program and so on.I used to do like this in past.But at present I am avoiding all these boring activities.I had installed a Portable Applications which is OPEN SOURCE,in my USB drives.Then now,I am able carry my whole PC to any where I like.I don't meed to install any program to another computer.Just insert the Pendrive and have your computer there.

What I am saying is that you can have your favourite software in the form of OPEN SOURCE at any where you like.For doing this you need to download a Portable Application Suite from http://portableapps.com/suite and just install them in your Pen Drive or any other USB Drive.

Portable Apps Suite is effectively a wrapper for a number of very useful applications that can be installed on a USB pen drive . To fire it up, simply double-click the “StartPortableApps.exe” on your USB device and you’re greeted with a nice little menu, similar to the Windows Start Menu.

You can have the applications like ClamWin Portable (antivirus), Mozilla Firefox – Portable Edition (web browser), Gaim Portable (instant messaging), OpenOffice.org Portable (office suite), Sudoku Portable (puzzle game), Mozilla Sunbird – Portable Edition (calendar/task manager) and Mozilla Thunderbird – Portable Edition (email client) and runs comfortably from a 512MB drive.

The usefulness of this application cannot be stressed enough. I don’t find many things more frustrating than when I need to go and change something on a computer I don’t normally have access to, only to find that my preferred software is not available. Now it’s simply a matter of popping in my pen drive and selecting the desired application. Nothing could be simpler.

For downloading any new applications of your requirement, you simply download the executable, then select “Install a new app” from the Suite’s menu and select the new application. To “uninstall” an application, you only need delete the directory from your pen drive. If only all application installation/uninstallations were this simple.
You guys can have GIMP on your Pendrive as PHOTOSHOP,Open Office Suite,VLC Media player etc...Great Have fun by downloading them and just install in your pendrive..
